When I returned from living in Australia, I started to eat a vegan diet. I studied a nutrition qualification and began educating myself on the impact of the food industry worldwide. I believe as global citizens it’s important for us to be aware of these and make small changes to contribute to a better, healthier world. There are so many ethical and environmental reasons that make Veganism a no-brainer: The incredible health benefits are just the start!
I have always been a big foodie and health nut – I’m from a family of serious food lovers so eating and living well is ingrained into my daily lifestyle habits. I spend my evenings and weekends experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes. Testing them out on my friends and family, I’ve learnt that when it comes to healthy Vegan food you can have your cake and eat it too! I use the most natural, unrefined and unprocessed wholefood ingredients I can find, and I have noticed that the quality of taste in my dishes has improved massively. Eating clean and pure food nourishes your body physically, emotionally and mentally, which is hugely beneficial in our jam-packed lives. I am continually learning about ways to nourish mind, body and spirit. Improving health & wellbeing through nutrition, fitness, mind-set and healthy lifestyle choices. For me, well-being includes the wider environment and planet Earth; a consideration of the ethical and environmental impact of the choices you make. Over the last few years I’ve gradually switched to natural eco-friendly beauty and household products. I’m also conscious of what I buy when shopping for fashion or homeware. There are many fantastic ethical products in the shops and I share my favourites, as ethical vegan products are often a little harder to find!
I hope to inspire you to live a happy, healthy, balanced life – whatever that means to you. I invite you to join the journey, and to make small, easy changes to live a nourished life. Be it finding exercises that you really enjoy, eating less meat and more veggies, taking time to slow down and unwind. The Vegan Edit is my way of sharing the knowledge and experience I’ve gained with health conscious people like you, who are just as passionate, enthusiastic and committed to leading a healthy lifestyle!
